Missy Roberts, MDiv
CCSH Fellow, Winship Cancer Institute at Clifton
Missy Roberts, MDiv is the Compassion-Centered Spiritual Health Fellow for Emory Winship at Clifton. She was born and raised in the Chicagoland area and completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology, Spanish, and Portuguese at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. During this time, she spent a semester studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Missy has spent years serving in multilingual, multicultural ministry contexts in Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Puerto Rico, and she is currently a candidate for ordination in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
Missy earned her Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and completed her first chaplaincy training at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, where she fell in love with Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and spiritual care in a hospital setting. She is so thankful to have recently completed her chaplaincy residency at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in South Carolina.
Missy’s favorite things include performing with her women’s barbershop chorus, dancing salsa, bachata, and tap, spending time with her fur baby Hovi, and drinking bubble tea. She also enjoys practicing the spiritual discipline of celebration alongside grief, which is beautifully embodied by the symbol of the disco ball. Missy is passionate about trauma-informed care, accompanying people through crises, and empowering them to step into their authentic selves and draw upon their unique strengths and gifts. She is deeply grateful for all her ACPE Certified Educators and mentors, and she hopes to become an Educator herself one day.
