Aris Simpson
Aris D. Simpson, a Chicagoan is a compassionate chaplain, program developer, and visionary leader with over 15 years of experience in spiritual care, trauma-informed healing, and social enrichment. They have successfully designed and implemented programs for children, elders, and marginalized communities, integrating cognitive-behavioral and family dynamic theories with spirituality to elevate the human experience and foster communal healing.
Aris is professionally trained in ACPE and is eagerly anticipating CBCT & CCSH training at Emory University. Having recently joined Emory, they bring expertise from their previous roles at prominent institutions. They trained at the University of Chicago, which is recognized for its academic excellence and contributions to research with over 90 Nobel Prize winners. They also completed didactic training at Rush Hospital, a national leader in health equity. They also gained hands-on experience at Grady Memorial, one of the top trauma hospitals in the Southeast, providing critical care to diverse populations.
Aris is currently focused on developing innovative programs and building collaborative networks to further holistic care and emotional healing. Their passions include reading mystery and poetry, skating, and cooking, as well as creating communal social components that foster health and sustainability.
